Bill is married to Debbie, the love of his life, after meeting her while filling in as a bus driver for the Brian Adams Band (well the tee shirt sales team). She initially refused to date a "roadie," but soon fell for his charm and wit. Bill and Debbie are the proud parents of Sinclair and Brittany and grandparents to Danielle and Jude, soon to be joined by a third. Bill and Debbie have been married for nearly 30 years.
In addition to filling in as a roadie, garbage man, and bus driver, Bill has led an exciting life through his work in the Army, as a FEMA contractor, private guard, and his current work as the Maintenance Manager for Park Cedar Rapids. While serving as a guard, Bill was injured and hospitalized, and laid-up for an extended period of time. In that down time he made a bucket list with seeing the Pyramids of Belize at the top of the list, but God had a different idea for him. As Bill planned his trip, God set Liberty in his path; with this he was called to serve those hurting in the world and found his passion in working with orphans at Liberty Children's Home in Ladyville, Belize. He continues to take trips to Belize to help fund and maintain the orphanage, and loves knowing that they are keeping these children safe from a life of human trafficking.
Bill and Deb joined St. Stephen's because of Deb's family connections as well as the church's open invitation to all. Since joining St. Stephen's in 2001, Bill has enjoyed working in a variety of positions, including his recent work with the RIC task force. He is currently serving on the Council as the Living Christ Ministries representative. Bill enjoys using his passion for service and his faith in his daily life, and uses these gifts in serving on Council.
